Artist statement:

As an artist, I love color.  I love the brightness of the greens, the softness of the blues, the brilliance of the reds and all the shades there in of brown, sepia, sienna, and umber, how they mesmerize me in their play with light.  It is the richness that surrounds us and it is the beauty that moves us.  Every day life brings hope, the yearning for new beginnings and the promise of endings.  It is the life that surrounds and connects us that inspires me.  When I paint, it is not only what I see, but what is felt, that I strive to make manifest on canvas.

I work exclusively in oil, if for no other reason, than the richness of it.  The thickness of the paint and the depth that I can achieve with it, allow for the expression of what is felt within.  It is in this expression where I hope to share with you the beautiful gamut of our emotions, feelings, and our love.  Thanks for the journey!

About Dianne:

Born and raised in a small town outside Bangor, Maine, Dianne spent her childhood with an abundance of natural beauty and inspiration.  A graduate of the University of Maine at Orono, she received her BA in Psychology with a minor in Art.  Her adventures have taken her many places including a move to Salt Lake City, Utah in 2001 followed by several years spent in Nashville, Tennessee.  In early 2008, Dianne decided once again to make Salt Lake her home.  She now lives in a beautiful neighborhood with a wonderfully supportive community, and having traveled most of the country, she finds this little piece of heaven just perfect.
